As president of Baltimore City Community College (BCCC), it is my pleasure to welcome you to CareerFocus! In this publication you will explore the many pathways to career success awaiting you at BCCC. Faculty, staff and workforce partners are ready and eager to help get you on the right track—and keep you there—all the way through reaching your achievement goal.
BCCC serves more than 18,000 students annually at our Liberty Campus and multiple learning sites throughout the city. Our highly diverse student body includes recent high school graduates, as well as individuals looking to upgrade their job skills or train for completely new careers.
We deliver high-quality education in traditional and emerging disciplines, enabling students to transfer credits to a four-year college or university or qualify for immediate employment in a career field with a future.
Ours is the only two-year institution in Maryland to offer an associate degree in robotics technology. At our state-of-the-art Life Sciences Institute at the University of Maryland BioPark, students can choose from cutting-edge courses in biotechnology, environmental science, biomedicine, and more, while taking advantage of valuable internships and mentoring. BCCC is home to Maryland’s only nationally certified Weatherization Hub, which trains students for “green” jobs promoting energy efficiency. Opportunities abound through credit and noncredit offerings.
I accepted the opportunity to lead Baltimore City Community College because I want to be involved in something great. Isn’t that what you want, too? Please read on and see how we can help you!
